The cast and filmmakers also will show the movie at two additional undisclosed bases. Most of the rest of us will have to wait till June 22.

The Weinstein Company has provided the first images from The Master, the Paul Thomas Anderson-directed film that stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams. In this clip there is no Hoffman, who plays a man who creates a belief system and watches it take off in post-war America. Phoenix plays a guy looking for something to believe in, who becomes the title character's right-hand man who then begins questioning his course. Many reports have claimed this movie is about Scientology, but from what I've heard it is as applicable to Mormonism or any modern-day belief system that launches and draws a following. The film, which languished at Universal and then was orphaned because of its $35 million budget, finally got made because Megan Ellison had the money to allow Anderson to see through his vision. It is always a compelling vision, so good for Ellison, who can afford to take a risk on an auteur.
Sony has released the first theatrical teaser trailer for the new James Bond movie Skyfall. Directed by Sam Mendes, it has Daniel Craig in his third turn as 007, Javier Bardem as the villain plus Judi Dench as M ' who it turns out has or seems to have something to hide ' Albert Finney and new Bond femme fatale Berenice Marlohe. Opens November 9th in the U.S.

Directed by Roger Michell from Richard Nelson's script, it also stars Olivia Williams as Eleanor Roosevelt, Laura Linney as Margaret Stuckey plus Samuel West and Oliva Colman as the king and queen.

Warner Bros has released the initial trailer Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad. The cast for the period mob drama about the LAPD's battle against Mickey Cohen includes Sean Penn (as Cohen), Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, Mireille Enos, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi and others. Paramount's Insurge label is collaborating with Tugg to release the horror film The Loved Ones, which most recently screened at this year's SXSW. (The Tugg platform enables filmgoers who want to see a movie to set up on-demand screenings at local theaters.) Loved Ones, written and directed by Sean Byrne, centers on a girl who asks a guy to the prom and he says no ' so she throws a prom of her own where he has no choice but to attend. Robin McLeavy and Xavier Samuel star.
This new Battleship clip debuted last night on MTV and is the latest push from Universal ahead of the tentpole's May 18 release in the U.S. Overseas, the Peter Berg-helmed big-budget actioner starring Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson and Rihanna finished its third weekend in open waters and has a $170.9 million gross so far.
Here's Warner Bros' third and final theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before the movie opens July 20. As expected the trailer will have prime theatrical positioning in front of Disney-Marvel's The Avengers when that hotly anticipated movie officially kicks off summer season late Thursday/early Friday.
