Hot SXSW Trailer: 'Downloaded'

The 2013 SXSW Film Festival announces its complete feature line-up for this year on Thursday but we already know that Downloaded is going to one of them. The festival announced earlier this month that documentary would make its world premiere in Austin during the March 8 ' 16 event. Directed by Bill and Ted alumni Alex Winter, Downloaded examines the rise, fall and legacy of file sharing pioneer Napster. Check out the trailer:

Hot Trailer: 'Upside Down'

Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess are star-crossed lovers separated by class, wealth, and a pair of side by side planets whose gravities are mutually incompatible in Upside Down, the second feature from French-Argentinian director Juan Diego Solanas. More than two years after wrapping in late 2010, the ambitious science fantasy romance, made for only $50M, will finally get a limited North American platform release beginning March 15. A dual production by Studio 37 and Onyx Films, Upside Down is distributed by Millennium Entertainment.

Hot Trailer: 'Oz The Great And Powerful'

Disney unveiled a special look at its Oz The Great And Powerful last night during the SAG Awards, part of a full-court press campaign ahead of the pic's March 8 premiere. That push includes a separate tease for an ad that will play during the Super Bowl. Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris fall in love, marry, and endure a most unusual illness in Michel Gondry's first French-language feature Mood Indigo (L'écume des jours), which will test the critical cache that's been slipping since Gondry followed his Oscar-winning 2004 pic Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind with The Science Of Sleep ($15M globally) and Be Kind Rewind ($30.5M). Adapted from Boris Vian's 1947 novel, Mood Indigo follows on the heels of Gondry's most recent studio effort, 2011's modestly performing tentpole Green Hornet. The pic opens in France on April 24 via StudioCanal but has yet to set U.S. distribution.

Hot Clip: Ashton Kutcher In 'jOBS'

Ashton Kutcher stars as Apple visionary Steve Jobs in the Joshua Michael Stern-directed jOBS, which premieres Friday as the closing film at Sundance. In this first-look clip, Kutcher walks and talks through the parking garage of Hewlett-Packard trying to convince future Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad) to push forward with his work on an operating system with commercial potential: 'How does somebody know what they want if they've never even seen it?' Open Road just announced it will release the pic wide April 19.

Hot International Trailer: 'Side Effects'

Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects opens Stateside on February 8 via Open Road. It will have its international premiere at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival, where the thriller is running in competition. Rooney Mara, Jude Law, Channing Tatum and Catherine Zeta-Jones star in the film that Soderbergh co-wrote with his Contagion scripter Scott Z. Burns. The story follows a successful New York couple (Mara and Tatum) whose world unravels when she begins taking a new drug prescribed by her psychiatrist (Law). Here's the new international trailer:

Hot Trailer: 'Olympus Has Fallen'

The first trailer has dropped for Olympus Has Fallen. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman, Olympus Has Fallen has a storyline very similar to White House Down, the Sony Pictures film that stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, with Roland Emmerich directing. Both are Die Hard-in-the-White House-style dramas where the building is overtaken by terrorists and it's up to a Secret Service agent to save the president. Olympus Has Fallen is slated for a March 22 release.

Hot Sundance Trailer: 'The East'

The Fox Searchlight thriller The East, directed by Zal Batmanglij and co-written by Batmanglij and Brit Marling, who also stars, debuted yesterday at Sundance. The film centers on a mysterious anarchist collective (called The East) and an ex-FBI agent (Marling) who goes undercover and dedicates herself to taking it down. Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard also star. Check out the trailer below:

Hot TV Spot: 'Oblivion'

Universal has put up a new TV spot for Oblivion. The Joseph Kosinski-directed film stars Tom Cruise as one of the last humans on Earth after a devastating war with aliens. While he's on duty as a roving drone repairman, he stumbles upon the survivor of a downed space craft. Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, Zoe Bell and Andrea Riseborough costar. Oblivion launches with an exclusive IMAX run on April 12 and hits regular cinemas April 19.

The 'retired and extremely dangerous' spies are back in Red 2, and this time they're hunting a portable nuke that's gone missing. Dean Parisot directed the sequel from Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber's screenplay adapted from the graphic novel Red by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren again lead the sizable cast. The Lionsgate/Summit release opens August 2:

Hot Trailer: Jeff Nichols' 'Mud'

Jeff Nichols' Mud premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival last year. Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions later jointly acquired it for the U.S. with a release coming this spring. Before that, it will premiere Stateside as part of the Spotlight section of Sundance which kicks off today. In the film, two teenage boys encounter a fugitive and help him to evade the bounty hunters on his trail and reunite him with his true love. CBS Films has released a trailer from The Last Exorcism Part II, a film that basically picks up where the first one left off. Ashley Bell is back as the young woman tormented by a demon. The first one, released by Lionsgate, grossed $67 million worldwide on a $1.8 million budget, and after how well Texas Chainsaw 3D did last weekend, the audience for scare fare seems to be just waiting for the next jolt. This one, opening March 1, is produced by Eli Roth.

Here's a second trailer, which debuted as part of the CES convention in Las Vegas, for the Guillermo del Toro-directed Pacific Rim. It grows appropriately bigger from the first look unveiled last month to show off the giant robots that face off against giant alien invaders. The Warner Bros/Legendary pic starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman opens July 12. If you like it don't worry because del Toro and scribe Travis Beacham already have a sequel in the works.

Hot Trailer: 'A Good Day To Die Hard'

Bruce Willis hits Moscow for the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise, this one starring Jai Courtney as John McClane's son, who's become a federal agent chasing Russian bad guys. There's clearly still an appetite for American 'cowboys': Fox's previous pic, 2007's Live Free Or Die Hard, grossed $33.4 million on its opening weekend back on its way to a worldwide cume of $383.5 million. A Good Day To Die Hard is set for a February 14 release.

Hot Trailer: 'Dead Man Down'

The first trailer for the Colin Farrell-starring Dead Man Down dropped today. Niels Arden Oplev directed the crime thriller, about a professional killer and right-hand man to an underground New York crime lord who's seduced and blackmailed by a crime victim seeking retribution. The latter juicy role is being played by Noomi Rapace, who did the Swedish Girl With The Dragon Tattoo pic with Oplev. Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper co-star in Dead Man Down, which was penned by J.H. Wyman, who co-produced with Neal H. Moritz. FilmDistrict has set a March 8 release for the movie, a month earlier than originally planned.
